Description
In the sequence of the great success of
ICKEDS’04 held in
Porto (Portugal) in 2004, ICKEDS’06, the
Second International Conference on Knowledge Engineering and Decision
Support will be held in Lisbon
(Portugal) from May, 10th to 11th, 2006. You can

ICKEDS’06 envisages bringing together communities of researchers,
developers and users working with Knowledge and Decision Technologies
and Management in order to discuss the benefits of these sciences in
a new Knowledge and Decision Society.
From the technological point of view ICKEDS’06 will join people from
several areas like
Artificial Intelligence, Operational Research, Simulation,
Decision Support Systems and Knowledge-based Systems. From
the management perspective, several areas
will be involved, like Knowledge Management, Decision Making,
Negotiation, Argumentation, Conflict Resolution and
Business Intelligence. ICKEDS’06 aims to specially focus on the
importance of real‑world applications of these technologies and methods.
The paper submission is made
electronically here and the process may be done in
two ways:
Submission of an extended
abstract (3 pages)
Submission of the full paper (8
pages)
An
International Program Committee will review
extended abstracts and full papers. Each paper will be sent to three
reviewers. Authors of extended abstracts that received a positive opinion
by the reviewers will be invited to submit full papers that will be also
reviewed. The accepted full paper authors will be invited to submit
electronic camera-ready papers to be included in the Proceedings of the
conference (CD-format) and in a brochure with the abstracts. At least one
author must be registered for each published paper and the paper must be
presented in the conference. Discounts will be made for the registration
related with additional papers from authors with more than one paper.

main contributions (e.g. introduction, state of the art, proposed model
and specification, implementation, experiences and comparisons,
conclusions and further work)

Special Sessions
Special Sessions are welcome.
Organizers of these sessions will chair them. To organize a Special
Session it is necessary to send the proposed title for the session and a
list of four papers. These papers must be submit and reviewed by the normal
procedure, the special session organizer will be informed of all the
on-going process.
Workshops
and Tutorials
Workshops and
Tutorial are also welcome. Organizers of Tutorials and Workshops should
send a proposal with the Tutorials or Workshops title, brief description
of the objectives, list of speakers and tentative presentations titles.
Language
The working language of the Conference is English.
