Message From The President
Larger, more complex systems and plants, the liberalization of the power industry, as well as the rapid increase of renewables based electricity generation have led, and are still leading, to increased challenges in the design, economic and secure operation of electric power systems.
On the other hand, various methods of computational intelligence have come up and are still emerging, which are undoubtedly capable of helping to compensate the adverse effects of this development by more prudent practices.
ISAP is the adequate and well-established forum for exchange of ideas and experiences in this area. Since 1994 this conference is moving around the continents, thus bringing experts, scientists and practitioners of all countries together to share their expertise.
After a recent successful conference in Porto (Portugal) in 2015 we hope to attract another large number of interested practitioners to the next venue of San Antonio, Texas (U.S.A.) in 2017 and look forward to your participation.
The ISAP community emphatically supports the recent statement of the IEEE president to maintain "an environment in which scientists and engineers, regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, or nationality, have the right to pursue their careers without discrimination. Science, engineering — and humanity — prosper where there is freedom of movement, association, and communication."
(President of ISAP Council)
