System Architecture


SEAS is to enable the interworking of energy, ICT and automation systems at consumption sites, and to introduce dynamic and fine grained ICT based solutions to control, monitor and estimate energy consumption.

SEAS is to provide the means to dynamically control, monitor, estimate and adapt energy usage ofsystems within usage situations to enable efficient and sustainable energy consumption. Current energy management systems waste energy in buildings, because of sub-optimal heating/cooling for example. In particular, those static or coarse systems actually hinder the deployment of highly fluctuating renewable energy sources.

SEAS provides cross-industry co-operation, common solutions for information exchange, and means for consumers to impact their energy consumption. This will enable new services, new-business models for buildings and micro-grid environments in the context of free energy markets.

The main goal of the SEAS project is to research, develop and demonstrate a new SEAS Knowledge Model and SEAS Information Exchange Platform for energy information representation, processing and exchange between energy systems, automation systems, ICT based digital services and related stakeholders (energy users and providers). To ensure a fast and deep impact at the European level SEASíreference Knowledge Model will be opened for use and the SEASíinformation exchange platform will operate as an open cloud service.

SEAS project results will enable considerable increase in energy efficiency of buildings and facilitate deployment of renewable energy micro-grids, contributing towards meeting the environmental, conomic and sustainability challenges of energy consumption.
