Participation in ECAI 2025 – The European Conference on Artificial Intelligence

From October 25 to 30, 2025, GECAD participated in the 28th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (ECAI 2025), held in Bologna, Italy, one of the most prominent international events in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

During the AISE-2025: International Workshop on AI Systems for the Environment, researcher Fernando Lezama presented the paper “Fair Pricing Optimization in Energy Communities with Differential Evolution,” addressing the application of AI techniques to promote fairness and sustainability in local energy markets.

The presented work was developed in the scope of the NGS – New Generation Storage project, within BP12 – Armazenamento distribuído otimizado para comunidades de energia, contributing to the development of innovative approaches for distributed energy storage integration and management in energy communities.

Also, researcher Lara Sá Neves presented the paper “Online Hierarchical Partitioning of the Output Space in Extreme Multi-Label Data Streams”, the work was developed in the scope of the project PRODUTECH R3.

Throughout the event, GECAD researchers (Daniel Ramos, Zita Vale, Goreti Marreiros, Lara Sá Neves, Fernando Lezama, Brígida Teixeira) participated in talks, keynotes, demos, and collaboration sessions, strengthening international networks and promoting knowledge exchange in Artificial Intelligence applied to energy systems.
