On the 22nd of September 2025, GECAD had the honor of receiving Dr. Andrea Castellani, a senior researcher from the Honda Research Institute Europe in Offenbach, Germany. Dr. Andreas’ visit strengthened the collaboration between GECAD and HRI, with discussions focusing on future project ideas, including more human-centric approaches and energy as one of the domains of interest. Dr. Andrea also gave a talk titled “Real-World Energy Management Data from a Smart Building for Optimization and Machine Learning,” which contemplates a real-world energy management dataset collected from a smart company building over six years. The session gathered PhD students, researchers, and professors, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas that we believe will inspire ongoing and future work in this area.
