GECAD had a strong presence at IEEE CAI 2025 at Santa Clara, California in US, with Prof. Zita Vale, Prof. Carlos Ramos, and João Soares showcasing the group’s leadership in AI for energy systems with the organization of a Workshop and the presentation of two papers.
In collaboration with Prof. Kumar from Clemson University, GECAD co-organized the 3rd edition of the workshop “AI for Sustainable Energy”, which brought together experts to explore the latest innovations in AI-driven energy solutions. We were honoured to host the keynote by Prof. Chen-Ching Liu from Virginia Tech, who inspired the audience with his talk on “AI for Smart Grids”, offering forward-looking perspectives on intelligent grid technologies.
The conference underscored several critical topics in AI market, with particular emphasis on standards and ethics. GECAD also played an active role in the IEEE AI Coalition meeting, which aims to drive a unified vision and shared AI resources across IEEE societies.
Stay tuned for the follow-up edition of IEEE CAI and workshop.
