SAtComm Project Meeting – Mellionnec, Brittany, France

On June 22nd and 23rd, researchers from GECAD – Research Group on Intelligent Engineering and Computing for Advanced Innovation Development, Polytechnic of Porto, participated in the Sustainable Atlantic Communities (SAtComm) project partners for the consortium meeting in Mellionnec, a small and inspiring commune in the heart of Brittany, France, home to the project’s French pilot community.

Two intensive days of work, field visits, and collaborative discussions with partners from Portugal , Spain , France , and Ireland , all united by a shared goal: developing replicable models for sustainable and energy-resilient Atlantic communities.

The visit to the French pilot was a highlight. Seeing the local context firsthand, the community dynamics, the territorial challenges, and the ongoing energy transition efforts brought a new dimension to the technical and regulatory work we have been developing across the consortium.

SAtComm reminds us that the energy transition is not just a technical challenge; it is a social, territorial, and collaborative one.

Looking forward to the next milestones!
